Weiyang Li is a director and editor based in Los Angeles. He came up in post — four narrative features and the Netflix series Last Stop: Paradise, an official selection at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. Screwdriver, which he cut, closed the 25th Dances with Films. That grounding shapes how he shoots: he covers a scene knowing what the edit actually needs, which usually means fewer setups and less waste on the day. Since 2023 he has directed 18 vertical series for ReelShort, ShortMax, FlareFlow, DreameShort, Sereal+ and TikTok — 60 to 90 episodes delivered on 8-to-12 day schedules. Mommy It Hurts, Where's Daddy? became a breakout title for FlareFlow and was cited in Variety's reporting on the format. It's unforgiving work, and it sharpened everything about how he blocks, paces and cuts. He also directs and writes his own narrative and commercial work, including the campaign Dead by Daylight Mobile: Next Era of Horror. Originally from Fuzhou, Jiangxi, he holds an MFA from Loyola Marymount University, works in English and Mandarin, and runs Wild Lambs Productions. He is currently developing his debut feature, Sons of the River.
